OEC's History

In 1946, Joe Kreps and Powell Blair rented a 14' x 14' garage on the west side of Cullman, Alabama, and opened a small print shop. Their focus was on quality work and excellent customer service at a fair price. Wishing to expand the business, they acquired the Cullman Banner, the newspaper which today is the Cullman Times.  In 1958, the partners divided the business into separate entities: Office Equipment Company, Modernistic Printers, and the Times-Democrat.

In 1961, with a five-person staff, Office Equipment Company moved into a 2,700 square foot building at 209 Third Street SE. Fifty-seven years later, with 19 staff members, OEC operates two stores -- the 13,000 square foot main store in Cullman and the 3,600 square foot branch in Guntersville.

While the address may have changed, OEC's focus remains the same -- quality products, excellent customer service and competitive prices.  OEC offers everything for your home office or business -- office and computer supplies, digital copiers/printers and a factory-trained service department to maintain equipment after the sale. OEC's furniture department offers everything from wood veneer computer cabinets for the home to the latest styles of ergonomic chairs and office panel systems.

From a gem clip to a complete office, you'll find it all at Office Equipment Company.
